Standard head stations BDCOM are presented by models line P33XX, and the most popular during five last years as minimum, is P3310B model. This model underwent two apparatus changes already (but still it is L2 switch essentially) and today is the main "working horse" of all GEPON technology fans. Model is presented in four variants, that differ from each other by power adapter, namely:

P3310B – basic model, has one power block 100-220VAC;

P3310B-2AC – model,that has two power blocks 100-220VAC (one reserve if the main block is disabled);

P3310B-DC – model, has one power block 36-72VDC;

P3310B-2DC – model,that has two power blocks 100-220VAC (one of them is also reserved if the main block is disabled);

1.1 Standard head stations (Low-level).

Standard head stations BDCOM are presented by models line P33XX, and the most popular during five last years as minimum, is P3310B model.

This model underwent two apparatus changes already (but still it is L2 switch essentially) and today is the main "working horse" of all GEPON technology fans.

Value to money factor and worthy functional, place this model of linear terminal higher than any other OLT. There are simply no worthy competitors of P3310 among Chinese manufacturers (as well as among big-names, taking into account unit price)

Work with VLAN's:

  • Port-based VLAN (each port may handle its VLAN group);
  • DHCP Relay (DHCP requests from VLAN,and of client are transmitted to VLAN DHCP of server);
  • QinQ (using double tag for traffic tunneling through senior provider network);

Safety:

  • Port Security (MAC-addresses quantity limiting on ports);
  • Port Isolation (traffic blocking transmitting between ports);
  • Storm-control (unknown unicast/multicast/broadcast packets quantity);
  • Packet Filtering (packets incoming speed filtering of specified protocols);
  • loopback detection;
  • DHCP Snooping/ARPInspection/IPSourceGuard (DHCP/ARP/IPSpoofing protection, or in other words,  protection from false DHCP servers/ from false ARP requests/ from IP spoofing of client's side);

Service quality:

  • Flow Control (client traffic statistic collection);
  • QoS/CoS/DSCPmark (traffic priority changing);
  • DBA ( DynamicBandwidthAllocation – balanced bandwidth allocation between ONU);
  • SLA ( Service-levelAgreement – traffic speed agreement;it is possible to place guaranteed and peak speed on each ONU)…

1.2 Improved head stations (Mid-level).

Improved head stations were created by BDCOM relative recently. This step was made especially for those, who think P3310 is already not enough, but Top-level is overpriced and nowhere to apply.
Mid-level level is filled by P36XX models line. Model range is presented by three apparatus, that, in contrast to series 33, differ from each other more than essential.

Is it may be seen from table, EPON ports quantity in series 36 is essentially increased (properly 8,12 and 16), at the same time, dimensions are the same.  1U 19” for all models of the series.

There are two apparatus "features":

- two slots for power AC or DC adapters (each power adapter may be changed "hot", in contrast to stationary UB at 33 series).

*OLT of series 36 completes with one UB 100-240 VAC*

- feature card presence for two 10Gb/with Uplink ports for optical form-factor modules SFP+.

*for models P3612-AC/DC-2TE and P3616-AC/DC-2TE only; card is situated on device back panel.*

 

In programing plan the line P36XX was changed relating to base model P3310B. Series 36 - switches of the third level, that "can" the same as 33, plus addition functions, native to L3 switches.

As it may be seen, Chinese manufacturer did it best and developed new OLT line potentials.

If even this is not enough - welcome to Top-level.

 

1.3 High-power head stations (Top-level).

In fact, it is quite difficult to imagine home ISP, that would need head stations of such level. Chinese people use Top-level OLT as GEPON feed-readers, that work at the city center of middle size that serve thousands of subscribers at the same time.

In our motherland the fate of PON technology in residential areas is different for historical reasons (cities servicing is completely on FTTX technology). But, if You are completely sure in your crafts and have correctly planed PON building in conditions of residential area - welcome P85XX models.

Essentially, these models are nothing else, than chassis for MCU placement (Main Control Unit – main operating block), and there may be contemporary even 3 units at such chassis! Each MCU may analyze hundreds gigabits of information per second, and the rest of slots may be successfully busy with add-in cards with different ports sets (from copper 100Mb/s to optical 10Gb/s), including GEPON ports (max. 128 GEPON ports on chassis).

The present line is presented by three models, that differ from each other by chassis capacity (and, as a result, by possibility to install larger or smaller MCU and add-in cards quantity.

Depending on MCU model, functions may change a little bit, but even most  low-cost model can do everything: BGP, OSFP, all variety of  QOS and many other.  You may ask our engineers of searching systems for more detailed information.

 

2 Subscriber terminals (OLT), proposed by BDCOM company.

BDCOM company has quite wide assortment of subscribers equipment, but, taking into account native PON specificities and long work experience with native ISP, our company has chosen several the most new main samples among all variety of serial samples and prototypes of ONU from BDCOM, that are very popular today among ISP.

These ONU may be conditionally divided to three main groups:

  1.  NOU with one gigabit subscribers port;
  2. NOU with four gigabit subscribers ports;
  3. NOU with four hundred-gigabit subscribers ports;

 

Each ONU category has several models, their description is below.

 

2.1 ONU with one gigabit port form BDCOM company .

In this category there are models P1501C (rev. 1.0), P1501C (rev. 2.0) and P1501C1.

First two differ from each other by operating chip, that analyze optical GEPON traffic. Both ONU have same functionality and similar external view (same metal bodies, the same grey paint...).

Relative new P1501C1 differs from previous one port models by plastic body and chip. As for the rest, functionality is similar to first two models.

2.2 ONU with four gigabit port form BDCOM company .

In this category there is only one model P1504B. But step by step it gives its positions in popularity because of its three gigabit ports absence of demand, but, if there are such customers, that want "everything now" - this model will suit the best.

Exteriorly, except marking, it has no differences from P1004B, that is presented below, so there is no picture of it, to not to heap up pictures.

 

2.3 ONU with four hundred-gigabit subscribers ports form BDCOM company .

The present category - is most demanded among all subscribers devices, that are produced by BDCOM company. Ukrainian market in it best period of time, used to 50 000 ONU annually.

ONU from this category are acknowledged to be low-maintenance, cheap and universal devices, that may serve from one (but very fanciful) client to four, living in neighbourhood.

Hundred-megabit ONU are presented in BDCOM company by two models: P1004B and P1004C1.  As usual, they differ by electronic filling and by body material, but in whole, thier functionality is the same:

In fact, BDCOM has in store one more four-port hundred-megabit ONU sample, that is mix of P1004B (printed board) and a part of Chinese fight mechanism (body). 'It" calls P1104B-O and picture of this wonder could be seen below. As positive sides of this device, high security level from all environment factors may be specified, including impacts by heavy objects and cold Russian frosts. Moreover, the ONU body, essentially, is metal box, where it is possible to install optical fiber cable and splitter. Photo below.

There are also other ONU in stock and customized, the list of which is rather long. But, as practice shows, all ONU models, that are not mentioned above, didn't take on among ISP majority and are using "from time to time".
